About The Position

A nonexempt position providing medical assistant care in various ambulatory settings under the supervision of physicians, providers, and/or registered nurses. Clinical direction, oversight, and competency review are provided by medical providers and the ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management. The Medical Practice Assistant greets patients and guests using AIDET, delivers an excellent service experience, keeps patients informed about delays, and takes appropriate action, including offering alternatives.

Requirements

• At least one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant, or documented evidence of a completed externship in a medical office.
• Experience with electrocardiograms (EKGs), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary procedures, and injections.
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by an NJAC (13:35-6.4) approved certifying body.
• Current certification from a recognized certifying board approved by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.
• Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
