About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory Department at Avita Ontario Hospital. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager or designee, this role provides laboratory services to meet patient needs in accordance with accepted standards and practices. The technician performs laboratory procedures that provide information for diagnosing conditions and monitoring medical treatment, maintains chemistry analyzers, and trains others in proper procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or a bachelor’s degree in a laboratory-related science accompanied by an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Current BLS certificate.
- Adhere to applicable State, Federal, and accrediting-body regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through ASCP or AMT(HHS).
- Three years of previous clinical laboratory experience.
