About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for its Indianapolis, Indiana laboratory. The role involves performing laboratory testing and related specimen processing, result review and reporting, and recordkeeping in accordance with laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory and safety guidelines. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Pay starts at $24.52 per hour, with possible shift differential and eligibility for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

Education: BS in Medical Technology preferred; alternatively, a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
One year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining patient test-result records.
Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
Review and release test results.
Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting; correct problems or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
