About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role involves conducting laboratory testing and supporting accurate, safe processing and reporting of patient test results. The position is Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 6:30 AM and 8:30 PM, and includes rotational weekends. Technologist positions are available to candidates ranging from entry level to experienced.
Requirements
- A BS in Medical Technology; or a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; or an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
- One year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining patient test-result records.
- Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Review and release test results.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
- Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting, correct them, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
