About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for an on-call technologist position in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role performs laboratory testing and supports accurate reporting of patient test results while following established laboratory procedures and applicable regulatory, privacy, and safety guidelines. The listed pay starts at $24.52 per hour. Offers depend on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, market factors, and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is preferred; alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology, an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
• One year of clinical experience with high-complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting, correct encountered problems, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
