About The Position

Under the direction of healthcare professionals, the Youth Apprentice – Laboratory will assist laboratory care team members as directed. Duties may include customer service, accessioning, and pre-analytic specimen preparation. Continued participation in the apprenticeship program is required to meet minimum qualifications for this position. Completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through the apprenticeship program is required to function as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in High School as a rising Junior or Senior OR HS Diploma required.
• Must be dually enrolled in Midlands Technical College OR accepted into the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program.
• Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.).
