About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is recruiting for a 12-Month Paid Apprenticeship for a Medical Assistant. This State-approved program combines paid clinical training with structured coursework to prepare apprentices for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. Apprentices will work alongside experienced care teams in a patient-centered medical home model, supporting providers in delivering compassionate, culturally responsive care, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, tracking clinical quality measures, supporting care coordination, and administering immunizations within scope. The program is an investment in the apprentice's future and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and families.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • CPR certification
  • Commitment to completing required coursework
  • Dedication to serving diverse and underserved communities

Responsibilities

  • Support providers in delivering compassionate, culturally responsive care
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and assist with exams and procedures
  • Track clinical quality measures and support care coordination
  • Administer immunizations within scope
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes
