One Community Health is offering a paid Medical Assistant Apprentice program that combines online classroom learning with hands-on, on-the-job skills training. The 12–14 month program includes 156 hours of online classroom learning and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training. Participants pay no training or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam fees. Upon successful completion, apprentices will be eligible to sit for the CCMA exam. No healthcare experience is required, though prior experience is a plus. The starting wage is $20 per hour, with an increase at six months. Employees who demonstrate fluent proficiency in both Spanish and English receive an additional $0.75 per hour bilingual differential. Applications are accepted until October 23, 2026. Applicants should apply through the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program page at SOWIB, not through the website displaying the posting. Application materials should be emailed to Laura Pumphrey at [email protected] and include a completed application, supplemental form, driver’s license or state-issued ID, and a copy of a high school diploma or GED. Questions or requests for help can be directed to Seth Deister at [email protected].
