About The Position
Under the direction of healthcare professionals, the Youth Apprentice – Laboratory will assist laboratory care team members as directed. Duties may include customer service, accessioning, and pre-analytic specimen preparation. This is a temporary employee position with a scheduled weekly hour of 10.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in High School as a rising Junior required.
- Must be dually enrolled in Midlands Technical College.
- Continued participation in the MUSC Health Midlands Medical Laboratory Assistant Apprenticeship Program is required to meet minimum qualifications for this position.
- Completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through MUSC Health Midlands to function as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant.
- Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Currently enrolled in High School as a Junior or Senior OR HS Diploma required.
- Must be accepted into the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program.
- Continued participation in the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program is required to meet minimum qualifications for this position.
- Completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through Trident Technical College Apprenticeship Program to function as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant.
- Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.).
