About The Position

Baptist Medical Center South is seeking a Medical Lab Assistant II to work in its Outpatient Laboratory. The role involves specimen processing, phlebotomy, and clerical and technical duties related to laboratory specimens and results. The position is full-time, on the day shift, in the MOB2 Lab, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, Florida. Phlebotomy experience is required. The candidate will interact face-to-face with patients and should have excellent customer service and comprehensive computer skills.

Requirements

• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Excellent customer service skills for face-to-face interactions with patients.
• Comprehensive computer skills.
• Less than one year of Medical Laboratory Assistant experience.
• High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
• Communicate laboratory results and respond to specimen-related questions from physicians and other caregivers.
• Collect blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
• Use computer functions.
