About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant II for the Outpatient Laboratory at Baptist Medical Center South. This is a full-time, day-shift position in the MOB2 Lab, scheduled from 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role includes specimen processing and phlebotomy procedures, as well as face-to-face interaction with patients. The position requires phlebotomy experience, strong customer service skills, and comprehensive computer skills.
Requirements
- Phlebotomy experience is required.
- Excellent customer service skills for daily face-to-face patient interactions.
- Comprehensive computer skills.
- Less than one year of Medical Laboratory Assistant experience.
- High school diploma required.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
- Communicate laboratory results and respond to specimen-related questions from physicians and other caregivers.
- Collect blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
- Use computer functions.
