About The Position

The Twi Medical Interpreter facilitates communication between Twi and English speakers in a remote setting. The interpreter must process information quickly and accurately while maintaining a professional manner and working in a quiet, secure environment. The role is performed from the interpreter’s home office. Note pads and writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries may be useful tools. The interpreter renders concepts and meanings accurately according to established interpretation protocols, without omissions or additions. With permission or at the client’s request, the interpreter may explain cultural concepts to help prevent miscommunication. The position includes ongoing training and competency opportunities and pays monthly at a per-minute rate. Depending on location, language testing, a background check, and/or a drug screen may be required.

Requirements

Fluency or proficiency at a bilingual/native level in English and Twi.
Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
A quiet and secure home-office environment.
Computer or laptop running Windows 10 or higher.
USB wired headset.
Steady wired internet connection.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of interpretation experience is preferred.
