About The Position

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a qualified Medical Gas Plumber for their facility in Fort Worth, TX. This role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems, as well as equipment for medical gas and vacuum systems, adhering to the ASSE 6010 Standard. The position is for the 1st Shift, operating from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Requirements

Completion of a certified training program is required.
Must be capable of exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to apply and interpret principles of rational systems to solve practical problems.
Possess basic competencies in algebra, geometry, and shop mathematics.
Must be able to read safety rules, instructions in the use of maintenance tools and equipment, and methods and procedures found within mechanical drawings and layout work.
Work within precise standards of accuracy.
Rate information using standards which can be measured or checked.
Compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
Understand how flat drawings or pictures would look as solid objects.
Follow oral and written directions, plans, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to understand the type of material and piping required and the dimensions of the plumbing system to be installed.
Select the appropriate type and size of pipe and related materials based on job plans and specifications.
Inspect work sites to identify any obstructions.
Plan the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and the activities of other construction workers.
Cut pipe using various tools such as a hacksaw, pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.
Thread pipe using a threading machine.
Assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipes and pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic.
Fit and install prefabricated sinks, faucets, showers, etc.
Join piping using threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, or fused joints.
Secure pipes to the structure using clamps, brackets, and hangers with hand tools.
Test systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and monitoring gauges.
Follow directions, plans, and blueprints accurately.
Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications for installation into life safety systems.
Possess a general knowledge of product installation along with applicable laws, codes, rules, listing agencies, and regulations for medical gas and vacuum systems.
Maintain a working knowledge of product performance, system and component testing, documenting and recording, and medical terminology of medical gas systems.
Maintain certifications by showing proof of brazing performance every 6 months.
Be proficient in the use of oxygen and acetylene torches with rosebud tips while purging the system with nitrogen.
