About The Position

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) is seeking a full-time Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join their team at an outpatient clinic in Chicago, IL. This role is crucial for managing the patient registration process, ensuring exceptional professionalism, and providing excellent customer service to both patients and staff. The position operates Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday work required. MOR is a nationally recognized leader in orthopedic services, with its program ranked among the top in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. The practice is known for its internationally renowned surgeons who are at the forefront of technological advancements and surgical techniques, aiming to improve patient lives and activity levels globally. MOR doctors also serve as official team physicians for several prominent Chicago sports teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest possible level of customer service standards in patient check-in, status update, and answering phone calls.
  • Oversee patient tracking in the Electronic Medical Record while collecting co-pays and ensuring form completion.
  • Verify, update, and scan new and returning patient information.
  • Direct the flow of patients into rooms during clinic days.
  • Complete the patient check-out process, including collecting outstanding balances, providing patients with correspondence, and scheduling return appointments.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors, and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction.
  • Enter patient admitting information into the computer.
  • Obtain signed statements from patients to protect the clinic's interests.
  • Collect co-pays and/or payments on account.
  • Travel as required to additional clinic locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
