About The Position

Responsible for the management, inventory, setup/disassembly and cleaning of medical equipment in the patient care areas. This includes Omnicell supply management and special order purchases. The role involves maintaining equipment and supply inventory, including special-order items, and ensuring accurate charging. The technician will also assist in managing project budgets for repairs, replacements, and new purchases, and coordinate with the HH Biomedical Department for safety checks and repairs. Additionally, they will coordinate preventative maintenance programs, assist other department staff with stocking and clerical tasks, and represent the unit on Medical Center committees. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating knowledge of age-related patient needs from neonate through adolescence, cultural sensitivity, and adherence to organizational values and standards.

Requirements

Previous experience working with medical equipment in a hospital environment.
Able to demonstrate all of the CCMC Core Organizational Competencies or has potential to do so as well as any clinical competencies.
High school diploma.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR
Able to read, speak and write English.
Able to work independently with moderate supervision.

Responsibilities

Maintains equipment and supply inventory.
Maintains inventory of special-order items and completes paperwork to ensure items are charged appropriately.
Avoids waste and duplication of supplies.
Helps coordinators project budgets for repairs, replacement and new purchases.
Follows up with HH Biomedical Department on requested safety checks and repair work orders on medical equipment in order to enhance the Quality Improvement Program.
Coordinates preventative maintenance programs for equipment in all areas.
Assists other department staff with stocking unit supplies, cleaning supply room and performing clerical tasks, as needed.
Represents the unit when working on collaborative Medical Center committees with members of various teams, ie: Safety, Hazard Materials, MSDS, EOC.
Demonstrates knowledge of the age-related differences and needs of patients in appropriate, specific populations from neonate through adolescence and applies them to practice.
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families.
Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization through behaviors that are consistent with the CCMC STANDARDS.
Provides inventory and maintenance functions for equipment related to CCMC programs.
Assists physicians with the set-up of traction equipment.
