About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a part-time Medical Driver in Los Gatos, California. The role transports medical and related materials between healthcare locations using a company-owned vehicle. Drivers track items with a handheld scanning device, follow operating policies and service schedules, and provide professional service to clients and the public. Routes and assignments may vary based on client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The listed pay range is $21.00–$24.75 per hour.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with technology and ability to adapt to it.
• Ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination when required by location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items off storage racks.
• Ability to walk long distances and stand for long periods.
• Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup and drop-off responsibilities or routes vary.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, X-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform duties across assigned routes; route assignments and duties may change based on client and business needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Help build and nurture a collaborative team culture.
