About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a part-time weekend Medical Driver in Tempe, Arizona, to transport medical materials for healthcare clients. The role is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 4:30 PM to 12:00 AM and pays $17 per hour. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to safely transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. Drivers use a handheld scanning device to track items, follow operating policies and service schedules, interact professionally with clients and the public, load and unload vehicles, and maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness. Route assignments and duties may vary according to client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes.

Employment offers are contingent on completing a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review. Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items from storage racks.
• Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup and drop-off duties or routes are inconsistent.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of an employment offer.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image when interacting with clients and the public.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform duties across assigned routes and adapt to route changes and varying client or business needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
