About The Position

HMS is hiring an Insurance Subrogation Case Specialist to join our growing team! In this role, you’ll help identify, verify, and coordinate healthcare coverage for Medicaid members, while managing subrogation and claims-related cases. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in subrogation, claims, or case management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; basic knowledge of Microsoft Access is preferred.
  • Experience in a legal or insurance office setting is preferred, such as paralegal, legal assistant, casualty, or health insurance experience.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and/or Medicare programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and verify healthcare coverage and third-party liability information for Medicaid recipients.
  • Review and analyze insurance policies, claims, and case documentation.
  • Manage active subrogation case files and ensure all data is entered accurately and on time.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, employers, and members to obtain and confirm coverage details.
  • Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls related to subrogation or claims.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on open cases, enrollment updates, and payment processing.
  • Support company goals for revenue recovery, accuracy, and program compliance.
