Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in medical billing, coding, or a related healthcare administrative role
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT coding, and EOB interpretation
- Experience with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR)
- Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Nice To Haves
- certification in medical billing or coding a plus
Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers accurately and in a timely manner
- Review and verify patient billing information, insurance eligibility, and authorizations
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and manage accounts receivable
- Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, balances, and payment plans
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing guidelines
- Coordinate with clinical staff to resolve coding and documentation discrepancies
