About The Position

Granger Medical Clinic is hiring a full-time Medical Biller for its Revenue Cycle department at its Taylorsville, Utah headquarters. The role analyzes and researches claims, resolves billing edits and denials, follows up with insurance companies and other parties, and works to resolve collection barriers within established timelines. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility.

Requirements

Two years of medical billing experience.
Advanced-level Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
Analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical abilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Effective human-relations skills.

Responsibilities

Resolve billing edits and denials within established timelines.
Identify trends and issues and communicate recommendations for resolution to the supervisor or manager.
Follow up with insurance companies about claim status and payment by phone, email, payer websites, and regular mail.
Write appeal letters using established insurance guidelines to resolve collection barriers.
Respond to written and email correspondence within established timelines.
Report departmental issues and concerns to a supervisor.
Use systems, documents, and reports to identify and correct errors accurately within established timeframes.
Contact insurance companies, third-party payers, banks, attorneys, or individuals to resolve accounts accurately within established timeframes.
