About The Position

A busy, growing Hematology/Oncology practice is seeking an experienced Medical Biller with strong medical billing and revenue-cycle experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced specialty practice. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or nights. The potential base pay is $20 per hour; actual compensation may vary based on the applicant’s qualifications and other factors. Benefits, PTO, and holiday pay are available only to employees working 24 or more hours per week.

Requirements

1–2+ years of medical billing experience preferred.
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, and medical terminology.
Experience working denials and accounts receivable.
Knowledge of Medicare and commercial insurance billing.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced specialty practice.

Nice To Haves

Hematology billing experience preferred.
CPC or AHIMA certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Submit and follow up on insurance claims.
Work insurance denials, rejections, and appeals.
Review claims for accuracy and appropriate billing.
Verify insurance information and resolve eligibility- or authorization-related billing issues.
Post payments as needed.
Identify recurring billing issues and help improve revenue-cycle workflows.
Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, and practice management.
Maintain compliance with payer requirements, HIPAA, and billing regulations.
