About The Position

Caring Hearts Homecare is hiring a full-time Medical Biller who is self-driven, responsible, professional, and a team player. The role handles home health claims billing, insurance verification, claim submission and follow-up, patient billing records, payment posting and reconciliation, accounts receivable, denial documentation, collections, and billing reports. The Medical Biller must follow relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and maintain the confidentiality of patient information. The position is in person.

Requirements

• Knowledge of home health claims billing.
• Billing experience with Medicare, MassHealth, and other commercial insurance plans.
• Computer experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to create and maintain documents.
• Reliability and dependability.
• Organization and ability to multitask efficiently.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Self-driven, responsible, professional, and a team player.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and use of Waystar.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate claims.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Verify insurance coverage.
• Maintain and update patient billing records.
• Ensure billing practices comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Post payments to patient accounts, reconcile payments, and promptly address discrepancies.
• Generate and analyze billing reports, including aging reports and claim status reports, to monitor payment accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage accounts receivable and ensure prompt resolution of accounts receivable over 90 days.
• Manage denial documentation and ensure it is collected and sent in a timely manner.
• Participate in collection activities for problem accounts.
• Review and analyze billing reports monthly with the Administrator and/or designees.
• Perform other office duties as required.
