About The Position

The Medical Assistant is a critical member of the patient care team and renders clinical care under the direction of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, or Physician Assistants. The role includes supporting pediatric care at the Cartersville location and performing clinical and administrative duties to support providers and patients.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. The listed pay range is $21.85 to $32.80. Benefits eligible: yes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Medical Assisting diploma from a nationally recognized accredited program.
• Obtain a Medical Assistant certification within six months of hire from a nationally recognized accredited certifying organization: CMA (AAMA), NCMA (NCCT), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or CMAC (AMCA).

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Document information in the electronic medical record (EHR).
• Administer medications.
• Assist with procedures and treatments.
• Provide patient education.
• Stock exam rooms.
• Verify that lab, x-ray, or procedure reports are available for the provider.
• Perform computer functions, including medication reconciliation, coding medical and laboratory procedures, order entry, and scheduling appointments.
