About The Position

The Toledo Clinic is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for its Internal Medicine Department at 4235 Secor Rd, Toledo, OH. The Medical Assistant supports providers with patient treatment, prepares patients for provider visits, and performs clerical duties under the supervision of the Office Manager. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Qualified Medical Assistants may receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The bonus is payable within 30 days of hire to employees with active, verified credentials; employees who have not yet obtained or renewed a credential may receive it once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 retention bonus.

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assisting degree or diploma program from an accredited school.
• A Medical Assistant credential, such as RMA, CMA, or CCMA.
• Consistently arrive at work in appropriate, professional attire.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Adhere to clinic policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical medical assisting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care, including assisting with minor procedures or surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, and moles.
• Perform clerical duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient charts.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare exam rooms.
• Prepare patients for providers by taking histories, blood pressure, and other vital signs.
• Sterilize and prepare instruments.
• Call in prescription refills at a physician’s request.
• Order and maintain exam-room supplies and instruments.
• Follow up on lab work and/or X-rays.
• Administer injections.
• Arrive on time and adhere to the regular work schedule.
• Complete tasks within established time frames and follow clinic policies and procedures.
• Seek appropriate tasks when primary tasks are complete and assist coworkers as needed.
• Adapt to expanded roles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
