About The Position

Medical Assistants work collaboratively in a clinic or practice environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals. They facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. The schedule may be four or five days per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of an accredited or approved MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT program, or Paramedic program.
• If the applicant has not completed an MA program, externship, or internship, at least two years of clinical experience providing clinical support in a community-based clinic is required, along with standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Medical Assistant through AAMA (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), NCCT (NCMA), NHA (CCMA), NAHP (NRCMA), or AMCA (CMAC).
• New graduate or at least one year of previous clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms and prepare patients.
• Take manual and electronic vital signs.
• Perform EKGs.
• Draw blood and administer injections and immunizations.
• Perform point-of-care testing.
• Support pharmacology-related duties.
• Perform administrative duties.
• Perform or assist with in-office procedures and treatments.
