About The Position

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid unrestricted WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
  • BLS/CPR certification required within 3-6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma plus successful completion of a minimum of one academic year of post-secondary education in a medical assisting program from an accredited educational institution.
  • Proficient in Medical terminology and medical office procedures.
  • Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and a demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in medical assisting and/or certified medical assistant preferred.
  • 1-4 years previous work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider.
  • Assisting Physician/ARNP or RN with direct patient care.
  • Administering injections.
  • Rooming patients.
  • Taking vitals.
  • Recording chief complaints.
  • Assisting with minor surgeries/procedures with a medical provider.
  • Interacting regularly with patients, coworkers, and various other people on a day-to-day basis within the medical clinic.
  • Displaying a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
