About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports patient care in the Oncology Department at Ascension St Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. Under appropriate supervision, the Medical Assistant executes physician-ordered treatments and clinical duties, interviews patients, measures vital signs, and accurately records health information in patient charts. The role also prepares treatment and examination rooms, handles clerical tasks that support clinic workflow, and maintains clinical inventory by ordering and stocking supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience. Required professional licensure or certification may be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer. American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.

Responsibilities

• Execute physician-ordered treatments and clinical duties under appropriate supervision.
• Conduct initial patient interviews, measure vital signs, and accurately record health data in patient charts.
• Prepare treatment and examination rooms, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
• Answer phone inquiries, file records, and support clinic workflow.
• Order and stock supplies to maintain clinical inventory.
