About The Position

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and providers in fast-paced outpatient oncology offices in the Hartford Market. The role involves preparing patients and rooms for examinations and treatment, gathering and documenting patient information, assisting providers during procedures, and helping maintain accurate medical records and efficient patient flow. The Medical Assistant also supports front-office tasks as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance.
National Certification as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

Prepare examination and treatment rooms.
Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including providing appropriate clothing for physical examinations or minor surgeries.
Obtain pertinent patient history and enter it into the medical record, including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and review of systems.
Take and document patient vital signs.
Serve as a scribe between the patient and physician in treatment rooms, documenting relevant information.
Process and file laboratory and diagnostic test results, correspondence, and clinical notes in patient charts after physician review.
Ensure patient records are accurate and complete.
Notify providers and other departments of diagnostic testing results.
Coordinate patient flow and collaborate with receptionists to help ensure patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.
Assist front-office personnel with answering telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and other tasks as needed.
