About The Position

Schweiger is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Canandaigua office. The Medical Assistant performs medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting and helps provide high-quality patient care. The role supports providers with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures, documentation, patient flow, room preparation, and supply management. The schedule is 30 or more hours per week, with weekday availability and rotating Saturdays during operating hours of 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Flexibility to help cover within a team environment is needed.

Requirements

• Dermatology experience required.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
• Availability to work weekdays and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care for patients and providers.
• Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
• Assist providers with recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photographs, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures within established guidelines.
• Understand provider-to-patient flow and anticipate providers’ next steps to the best of their ability.
• Prepare rooms before and after patients and check equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure it is working properly.
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
• Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily and alert the Head MA and/or GM when supplies are low.
• Perform inventory tasks and stock supplies and equipment as requested.
• Attend in-house training and continuing education opportunities.
