Medical Assistant - Cayuga Primary Care - Ithaca Mall
About The Position
Cayuga Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care and support physicians. The role requires strong people and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work at two different locations. The Medical Assistant performs clinical duties within the scope of practice established by New York State law and practice protocols, supporting patient comfort and well-being. The listed onsite primary site is Cayuga Heart and Vascular at 40 Catherwood Road, Suite C, Ithaca, NY 14850. Shifts may start between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The pay range is $18.00–$22.00 per hour, plus benefits.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated clinical competency, including proficiency in aseptic techniques, sterilization, practice management systems, electronic medical records, and scheduling protocols.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic keyboard proficiency.
- Flexibility to work at two different locations.

Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties and procedures within the scope of practice according to New York State laws and practice protocols, ensuring patient comfort and well-being.
- Record patients' vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and sterilize equipment and supplies according to protocols.
- Assist physicians and providers with clinical questions, prescription refills, test results, and patient calls according to practice protocols.
- Prepare patient records for visits as directed by the physician or provider.
