About The Position

The Medical Assistant delivers patient care and support to physicians at Cayuga Primary Care - Community Corners. The role requires strong people and communication skills, flexibility to work at two different locations, and clinical work within the scope of practice and applicable New York State laws and regulations. The position is onsite at 905 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Clinical competency in aseptic techniques, sterilization, practice management systems, EMR, and scheduling protocols.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic keyboard proficiency.
Ability to remain flexible and work in two different locations.
Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed.
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
Capacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical duties within the scope of practice and in accordance with New York State laws and regulations.
Carry out assigned clinical procedures according to practice protocols to support patients' comfort and well-being.
Take and record patients' vital signs.
Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment and supplies according to protocols.
Assist physicians and providers with clinical questions, prescription refills, test results, and other patient calls according to practice protocols.
Prepare patients' records for visits as directed by a physician or provider.
