About The Position

Cayuga Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide exceptional patient care and support physicians. Strong people and communication skills are essential. The role requires flexibility to work at two different locations. The position is onsite at 401 Cayuga Park Ln., Ithaca, NY 14850, with a shift of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with flexibility. The standard pay rate is $18.00–$22.00 per hour, plus benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated clinical competency, including proficiency in aseptic techniques, sterilization, practice management systems, electronic medical records (EMR), and scheduling protocols.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic keyboard proficiency.
Ability to remain flexible and work in two different locations.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical duties and procedures within the scope of practice under New York State laws and practice protocols, ensuring patient comfort and well-being.
Record patients’ vital signs, prepare examination rooms, and sterilize equipment and supplies according to protocols.
Assist physicians and providers with clinical questions, prescription refills, test results, and patient calls according to practice protocols.
Prepare patient records for visits as directed by the physician or provider.
