About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its gastroenterology practice. The practice cares for patients with acute and chronic conditions, including esophageal issues, pancreas and liver conditions, lower abdominal symptoms, Crohn’s disease, colitis, liver diseases, and cancer. Patients may receive ongoing care or consultation for a one-time issue.

The Medical Assistant is part of the clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. The practice emphasizes teamwork among providers, nurses, medical assistants, and patient service representatives, and aims to foster a safe, open, and honest work environment.

This is a full-time position at the Grand Rapids location, scheduled for 40 hours per week, with day-shift hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Days worked are variable. Corewell Health offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus to external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
