About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its gastroenterology practice, which cares for patients with acute and chronic conditions. Patients may receive ongoing care or one-time consultations for concerns involving the esophagus, pancreas, liver, lower abdomen, Crohn’s disease, colitis, and cancer. The role is part of the clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. The practice describes its culture as collaborative, with providers, nurses, medical assistants, and patient service representatives working together in a safe, open, and honest environment. The position is based at the Lake Drive site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is full time on the day shift, with 40 scheduled hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; days worked are variable, and weekend frequency is listed as N/A. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered to external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students only.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
