About The Position

This role assists OMG providers in delivering health care at OMG clinic locations. The Medical Assistant supports patients and providers by gathering and maintaining necessary medical information in a cheerful, friendly, and personable manner, providing quality patient care, and helping establish rapport between physicians and patients. Openings are available across specialty and primary care locations in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon, including Urgent Care and Pediatrics.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Assistant certification from the AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT, or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
Healthcare provider-level CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
Experience with electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations and treatment and document chief complaints.
Obtain patient histories and vital signs and accurately record them in the Electronic Medical Record.
Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and specimen collection as assigned.
Retrieve laboratory and radiology results and instruct patients regarding medications and treatment according to physician instructions.
Understand and interpret the current immunization schedule and safely administer injections.
Stock supplies and prepare examination rooms and instruments for examinations, testing, or minor surgeries.
Respond to incoming phone calls and refer them when necessary; call patients as needed for follow-up or appointment scheduling.
