About The Position

Cowlitz Family Health Center is seeking a versatile Float Medical Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work in various locations and support staff by providing exceptional patient care wherever needed. The Medical Assistant assists in patient examinations and treatments under the direction of a medical provider, administers injections, rooms patients, takes vitals, records chief complaints, and assists with minor surgeries/procedures. This position requires interaction with patients and coworkers, displaying a friendly manner, commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Requirements

  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted WA Medical Assisting Certification.
  • BLS/CPR certification is required within 3-6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma plus successful completion of a minimum of one academic year of post-secondary education in a medical assisting program from an accredited educational institution.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in medical assisting and/or certified medical assistant preferred.
  • 1-4 years previous work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Proficient in Medical terminology and medical office procedures.
  • Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider.
  • Assisting Physician/ARNP or RN with direct patient care.
  • Administering injections.
  • Rooming patients.
  • Taking vitals.
  • Recording chief complaints.
  • Assisting with minor surgeries/procedures with a medical provider.
  • Interacting regularly with patients, coworkers, and various other people within the medical clinic.
  • Displaying a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
