Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Medical Assistant certification, OR Two (2) years of direct patient care experience, OR Associate’s degree (preferred in a healthcare-related field)
- Candidates who are not currently certified but demonstrate strong patient care experience and interest in the role may be considered.
- Selected candidates must be willing to obtain Medical Assistant certification within one (1) year of employment, and training/support may be provided.
- Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within the first month of employment and maintained throughout employment.
- Candidate should display initiative, demonstrate the ability to multitask, and be able to assume additional responsibilities as needed.
- Proven ability to problem solve and work collaboratively as part of a team is essential.

Responsibilities
- The Medical Assistant provides patient care in a physician’s office setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician and to assist the physician with documentation for patient’s medical chart.
- Clinical skills performed are within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485 and CFH Clinical Policy and Procedure.
- The MA may also perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions.
- May be required to float to other practices, as needed, for staffing.
