About The Position

The Medical Assistant Trainer coordinates and oversees training for new staff in the outpatient setting. The role develops and manages training manuals containing policies and procedures to support clear, accurate training. The trainer teaches new employees processes, computer and patient-care skills, provides detailed training on systems, and guides workflow organization. The position also supports patients and clinical staff with communication and clerical tasks and performs specified patient-care activities under the direction of the assigned clinical supervisor.

Requirements

• High school education, GED, or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• One of the listed credentials is required: CNA, EMT, CMA, CCMA, NCCT Medical Assistant, CMA-NHA, NRCMA, RMA, MA, MA-AMT, Phlebotomy Tech (MA-AMT), or Certified Phlebotomy Technician II (MA-AMT).

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Train new employees in outpatient processes, computer systems, and patient-care skills, including detailed training on all systems.
• Guide workflow organization so daily tasks are completed within expected time frames.
• Determine the initial competency of new staff and serve as a resource for staff questions and assistance.
• Provide communication and clerical support to patients and clinical staff, and perform specified patient-care activities under the direction of the assigned clinical supervisor.
• Demonstrate patient-centered behaviors, manage stressful situations and multiple tasks, and solve problems within established policies and procedures.
• Share information about new regulatory procedures and ensure staff are trained on new information.
• Provide regular staff in-services on new policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
