About The Position

Schweiger is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Riverdale office. The Medical Assistant performs medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting and supports providers delivering medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology services. The role requires previous healthcare experience; dermatology experience is preferred. The position is scheduled for 30 or more hours per week, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays during operating hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Flexibility to help cover within a team environment is needed.

Requirements

Previous healthcare experience is required.
Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
Availability to work weekdays and weekends, including rotating Saturdays, during operating hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Flexibility to help cover in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Dermatology experience is preferred.
Nationally Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere for patients and providers.
Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
Assist providers in recording treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures within established guidelines.
Understand patient flow and anticipate providers’ next steps to the best of their ability.
Prepare rooms before and after patients and check equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure it is working properly.
Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily, and report low supplies to the Head MA and/or General Manager.
Perform inventory responsibilities and stock supplies and equipment as requested.
Attend in-house training and continuing education opportunities.
