About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support nursing staff and providers in delivering high-quality patient care. The role works within the administration’s predefined scope-of-practice guidelines for the state where the employee practices. Medical Assistants help create a positive care environment and make a meaningful impact on patients and their families. This position is in the Cardiovascular Institute and offers specialized onboarding and training for tasks within the scope of practice. The department highlights compassionate patient care, an enthusiastic team, leadership focused on employee growth, and outreach to Iowa, Minnesota, and surrounding cities. The schedule is 10-hour day shifts, with 40 scheduled hours per week and no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
- Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant. Accepted certification examples include AAMA CMA, NHA CCMA, AMCA CMAC, or NCCT NCMA; registration through American Medical Technologists (AMT) is also acceptable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within six months of employment, with recertification as required.
- For North Dakota practice: registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing is required. If not held at hire, it must be obtained within four months; medication administration before obtaining MAIII registration must be supervised by a licensed nurse. The employee must also be registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry if they do not have MAIII registration at hire.
