About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to work in its Cardiovascular Institute. The Medical Assistant works within the administration's predefined scope-of-practice guidelines for the state where they practice and assists nursing staff and providers in delivering high-quality patient care. The role supports a positive care environment and aims to provide patients and families with compassionate, affirming care. The position includes specialized onboarding and training for tasks within the scope of practice, a supportive workspace, and opportunities for career advancement through educational assistance. The work schedule is 10-hour day shifts, with 40 scheduled hours per week. The department advertises flexible scheduling with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. A sign-on bonus is available to eligible candidates.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
- National certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through an approved organization. Acceptable certifications include CMA through AAMA, CCMA through NHA, CMAC through AMCA, and NCMA through NCCT; RMA through AMT is also acceptable.
- In North Dakota, registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing is required. If not held at hire, registration must be obtained within four months; the employee must also be registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry if they do not hold MAIII registration at hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within six months of employment, with recertification as required.
