About The Position

Christie Clinic is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for its ENT department at the Fields in Champaign, Illinois. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Saturday afternoons as needed. The position may require travel to satellite clinics to support the department. The Medical Assistant delivers patient care using a systematic patient assessment and performs assigned clinical and administrative duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification.
Ability to travel to satellite clinics as needed.
Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
Hearing within or correctable to a normal range, vision correctable to 20/20, and manual dexterity to operate office and laboratory equipment.
May be required to work irregular hours.

Nice To Haves

Previous health care experience.
Certified Nurse Assistant certificate and/or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments before appointments; clean and restock rooms at the end of the day.
Prepare charts according to department standards.
Maintain and update patient medical records, including allergies and medications, in the electronic medical record.
Use the flag system appropriately according to standard work.
Review and respond to the electronic medical record work list according to department standard work.
Enter lab orders and handle patient specimens as needed, including communicating with patients according to department standard work.
Assist providers with procedures and surgery as needed.
Provide patient education about medication instructions, procedures, wound care, and other information related to patient care.
Perform related work as required.
