About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) maintains a professional environment and collaborative relationships with patients and physicians. The role supports non-clinical tasks that ensure smooth patient access and flow, including pre-authorization and acting as a liaison between providers and patients. The MA works with staff to ensure appropriate records are received and required testing is completed before appointments or surgery. The MA updates staff and patients on the timing and status of tasks that may affect the patient's health, testing, or treatment options, and supports even patient flow and ongoing communication within Hoag and referring physician offices. Duties include scheduling follow-up visits, imaging, and lab work; preparing chart elements; checking vital signs; rooming patients; and assisting with procedures. The MA may be required to start at different locations during the workweek or travel among multiple sites.
