About The Position

UW Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Family Medicine team. The team provides diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, gynecological care, and urgent care. The role promotes healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education while delivering quality care in a compassionate, patient- and family-centered environment. Duties include preparing patients for examination, obtaining vital signs, documenting chief complaints, medications, and allergies, performing EKGs, and administering medications and treatments.

Requirements

• Complete an accredited medical assistant program, hold LPN licensure, complete the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program, attain CCMA certification as a UWH employee, be accepted into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated, or have one year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
• Be certified as an MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within one year, or hold LPN licensure upon hire.
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, hold current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification upon hire.
• Hold CPR/BLS certification upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN is preferred.
