About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Family Medicine practice at the Ionia ICC. The clinic houses Family Medicine, a Walk-In clinic, Women’s Health, laboratory, X-ray, and ultrasound services. The practice emphasizes teamwork and aims to provide a safe, supportive, collaborative environment where team members can enjoy their work, with employee recognition events throughout the year.

As a member of the clinical support team, the Medical Assistant works closely with other healthcare professionals to support patient care. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, including a range of primary care and specialty practices.

The position is full-time, scheduled for 40 hours per week, with a day shift on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Weekend frequency is variable. Corewell Health offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus to eligible external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills, or at least one year of experience specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• One of the following certifications required within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
