About The Position

Charleston Plastic Surgery is seeking a certified Medical Assistant to join its patient-centered practice, which specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. The role supports surgeons and patients throughout consultations, procedures, and pre- and post-operative care, while also contributing to appointment coordination, documentation, and daily clinic operations. The Medical Assistant may work across the front and back office and travel between the Mt. Pleasant and Summerville locations as needed.

Requirements

Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA, CMA, or RMA).
At least 1 year of experience.
Strong organizational skills.
A polished and professional demeanor.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Empathy and compassion when supporting patients through pre- and post-operative care.
Willingness to travel between the Mt. Pleasant and Summerville locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in plastic surgery.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Experience with NextGen EMR, LeadingReach, and Rhinogram.
Previous experience or knowledge of Obagi, Jane Iredale, and Tizo skincare products.

Responsibilities

Triage and room patients.
Assist surgeons during consultations and procedures.
Manage patient check-in and check-out.
Schedule follow-up appointments and verify insurance benefits.
Scan records and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA and medical protocols.
Prepare exam rooms and help maintain a clean, efficient workspace.
Float between the front and back office as needed.
Support patients through pre- and post-operative care with sensitivity and understanding.
Travel between the Mt. Pleasant and Summerville locations as needed.
