About The Position

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to help ensure efficient daily operations for patients and the clinical team. The role proactively prepares patient charts and confirms that information is complete and current. The Medical Assistant may support multiple patients each day, depending on the number of physicians on site. Success requires enthusiasm for helping others, efficiency, and empathy for patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or completion of a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
• Demonstrated experience with the computer program used for checking in and scheduling patients.

Nice To Haves

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
• Previous experience in the designated specialty.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collect laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.
• Assist nurses and physicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures as requested.
• Retrieve necessary equipment and supplies.
• Assist with patient and equipment preparation.
• Perform follow-up actions as directed.
• Complete hospital forms according to protocol.
• Prepare patient charts and ensure information is obtained and up to date.
