About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports the Gynecology Surgery team at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital by helping create a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients, families, and visitors. The role includes assisting with medication management, patient monitoring, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks to support patient care and health outcomes. The position works days, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a flexible schedule.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program.
• Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Complete a clinical externship or have extensive clinical experience.
• Demonstrate current clinical proficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) is considered.
• Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship.
• CMA, NCMA, or CCMA certification.
• One year of experience in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information.
• Identify medication changes and update allergy information.
• Collect specimens, perform tests, and document patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
