About The Position
Unity Healthcare is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for Gannamaneni Gastroenterology. The role has a flexible schedule with a minimum commitment of 1–2 days per week and includes coverage for vacations and unforeseen absences. The practice's office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent multitasking skills.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Medical office experience.
- Knowledge of Allscripts PM/EMR.
- Surgical scheduling experience.
- Experience completing prior authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients by reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs.
- Complete prior authorizations for medications and radiological testing.
- Assist with patient examinations and treatment under the direction of the Physician and Nurse Practitioner.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Document patient information using electronic medical records.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments and surgeries.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Perform additional administrative duties and projects as needed.
