Temporary Medical Assistant (Bilingual English/Spanish)
About The Position
Urban Health Plan is seeking bilingual English/Spanish Medical Assistants for temporary-to-permanent assignments at a health center in the Bronx. The temporary assignment is full time for a minimum of three months. At its conclusion, employees are eligible to apply for permanent openings. This posting is not for a current vacancy; the employer is collecting resumes for consideration when positions become available. The role supports providers, nurses, and patients in a health center setting. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, either 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and every other Saturday. The position is onsite in the Bronx. Starting compensation is $21.00 per hour. Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certificate.
- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Computer literacy.
- A responsible individual who genuinely wants to support patients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment.
- Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical history, and accurately record the information in medical records.
- Complete referrals and discharge patients.
- Assist providers and nurses during all aspects of examinations.
- Assist providers with treatments.
